Thailand's film industry is making waves on the international stage with the upcoming release of 'The Resident', a horror film directed by Chaiwat Sitalasai, co-director of the martial arts action film 'Thai Fighters'. This film is set to captivate audiences with its intriguing premise and talented cast, including 'Pie' Rinrada Kaewbuasai and Toomtam Yuttana. The story revolves around a young carer-in-training who discovers a wealthy patient in a large mansion, leading to a series of events that take an unexpected turn. Chaiwat's previous work, 'Night Shift', a horror film also in post-production, further cements his expertise in the genre. Both 'Night Shift' and 'Thai Fighters' were produced or co-produced by Film Frame Productions, a Bangkok-based production house founded by Pakin Maliwan in 2004. Film Frame has been instrumental in bringing Thai and international films to Thai audiences, including recent releases like 'Blood Brothers' and 'Ejen Ali The Movie 2'. The company's diverse portfolio also includes providing production services for U.S. and Asian films shooting in Thailand, as well as co-producing the video game adaptation 'Home Sweet Home: Rebirth' with Altit Media Group. With 'The Resident' now in the spotlight at Cannes, Film Frame Productions is poised to solidify its position as a key player in the global film industry, showcasing the talent and creativity emerging from Thailand's film scene.
